The health and safety of our employees, contractors, and the communities we serve are of primary importance to Ellesmere Excavation and Aggregate. Health and safety warrants the highest attention and we believe that safety should never be sacrificed for any project. 

Ellesmere Excavation and Aggregate are committed to the safety of all employees, contractors, customers and the general public, and to the improvement and excellence in the management of health and safety. 

Ellesmere Excavation and Aggregate will manage its quarrying operations and activities to the highest safety and operational standards with the aim of zero injuries and incidents, striving at all times to conform to all relevant laws, regulations, codes of practices, and safe operating procedures.​

All accidents and incidents are preventable

All employees, contractors and subcontractors and customers have the right to go home unharmed at the end of the working day

All employees, contractors and subcontractors can stop an activity if they believe it is unsafe and is to take an active role in the identification of habits.

Training in safe operating procedures and practices at all times is necessary for all employees and management.

Ensuring that hazards to the health and safety of employees, contractors, subcontractors and customers are identified, assessed and controlled as far as applicable.

Support employees to participate in health and safety management and the receive appropriate training.

Ensure all employees and contractors comply with relevant regulations and standard operating procedures.

Carry out quarrying operations that comply with relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and industry standards.

Seeking employee contribution and initiatives to provide a safer and healthier work environment and recognise the health and safety performance of employees and contractors.

Promoting a “Don’t Take Risks” culture.
